Navigation for Managers and Admins : New User Interface

Overview

Shiftboard uses top and left navigation bars to give you access to everything that you need to manage your Shiftboard site. You may have some or all of the menu options shown below depending on how your site is configured. For example, if your site is not set up to use the timeclock functionality, you would not see the timeclock icon.

Top navigation bar

  1. Logo—Clicking the logo displays your Dashboard.
  2. Find people—Search for a person on your team, then click their name for quick access to their details.
  3. Broadcast message—Opens the Broadcast Message page.
  4. Clock in/out—Opens the Clock In/Out page.
  5. Name—Shows your name and avatar.
  6. Avatar—Click the avatar to view the drop-down menu.

You may have some or all of the menu options shown below depending on how your site is configured:

  1. My account—Takes you to your account page where you can update your contact information, notification preferences, PIN, and password.
  2. Privacy policy—Allows you to read and accept Shiftboard’s privacy policy.
  3. Log out—Logs you out of Shiftboard.

Left navigation bar

When you log in to Shiftboard, you will be on the Dashboard page, which provides a quick view of shifts assigned to you this week, along with your site news. You can navigate to the full schedule, which includes additional information for all shifts for your team(s). See more details on the Dashboard and Schedule pages.

The navigation can be viewed in an expanded or condensed mode.

  • Left navigation bar (expanded): Click the arrow at the top to collapse the navigation bar:

    1. Expand menu—Click the arrow to expand or collapse the menu.
    2. Dashboard—Opens your dashboard.
    3. People—Lists everyone on your team and connects to their details.
    4. Teams—Opens a page with information about your workgroup(s)/team(s).Note: if your workgroup name is not Team, you will see your workgroup name.
    5. Schedules—Expands to display tabs related to scheduled shifts (see below).
    6. Messaging—Opens the Broadcast Message page.
    7. Who’s on—Expands to display tabs related to who is scheduled to work and who is clocked in/out at this moment (see Who’s On).
    8. Admin—Shortcut to the Shiftboard admin console, which opens in a new tab.

Schedules sub-menu

  1. Shifts—Displays all shifts for your workgroup (team). The default view is determined by a site setting. You can view your shifts based on the week view, the day view, or the staff view. There are also many filtering options to reduce the number of shifts you are viewing. See Viewing the Calendar for details.
  2. Timecard—Takes you to the Timecard page where you can review, approve, and add timecards.
  3. Time off—Allows you to view and approve time-off requests.
  4. Tradeboard—Displays offered and completed shift trades.
  5. Availability—Add to and view your workgroup’s (team’s) availability.

Who’s On sub-menu

  1. Scheduled—Lists who is scheduled right now.
  2. Clocked in—Lists who is clocked in right now.
